Lithos Design uses an extensive range of natural stones for its collections, some of which can also be deemed perfect for use in outdoor settings, thanks to the non-invasive impact which blends in seamlessly with the surroundings, and thanks to their durability and resistance to atmospheric agents.
The studies conducted on the characteristics of the natural stones selected by the company also make it possible to choose the best material for a given geographical area, subject to specific weather conditions.
Awaiting to discover the news linked to ventilated facades – innovative applications for outdoor claddings – which Lithos Design is set to present next April at the Salone Internazionale del Bagno show in Milan, we propose the prestigious refurbishment and renovation project for the outdoor area of the Ritz Carlton hotel in Bahrain, for which Lithos Design suggested the Virgola model in Grigio Cenere, a type of marble that is perfect for the dry climate of the location.
The external cladding achieved with Virgola, from the Le Pietre Incise collection, is teamed with the vertical greenery: thanks to nature, expressed here with plants and marble, a feature wall has been achieved, which creates an overall effect of harmony and well-being, vital for the resort’s luxury atmosphere.
The Onda model from the Muri di Pietra collection was selected to create an architectural element that acts as a partition: a free-standing wall of the utmost charm, especially when lit, that delimits the open-air restaurant and bar with extraordinary lightness, creating a partially seethrough effect.
Virgola, Le Pietre Incise collection Design: Raffaello Galiotto
With the Le Pietre Incise collection, Lithos Design creates games of material and light, intriguing optical effects for stone claddings which are bound to astound. Le Pietre Incise are available on stone slabs which are machined flat or which feature a curved design to give the wall depth and movement. All the models and surfaces in the collection are modular, so as to increase extensively the creative and applicative freedom of architects and interior designers. The choreographic Virgola cladding is based on the graphic symbol of the comma, which is the starting point for the creation of an original and tantalising cladding. Dimensions: 60 cm x 60 cm x 2 cm modules Materials: this model is available in several stone materials.
Onda, Muri di Pietra collection Design: Raffaello Galiotto
Muri di Pietra is a modular collection of decorative selfsupporting walls. The wall is conceived as a functional element (to separate rooms, to create ornamental barriers, to organise exclusive spaces) as well as a decorative feature due to the extreme original appeal of the processing. Indeed, the solidity of stone blends perfectly with the fluidity and lightness of the lines and perforations which create games of chiaroscuro and partially opaque effects affording a strong emotional impact. As in modular games, the models in the Muri di Pietra collection can be height and width adjusted, starting with the standard module sizes. In the Onda model, the presence of angular modules also permits the design of curves to the left and right depending on your specific needs. The result is an object that blends in seamlessly with the architecture of both domestic and contract settings. Muri di Pietra walls have an invisible steel frame which can be attached to the floor and/or the ceiling. The modules can be assembled dry or with a thin film of glue which proves almost invisible. Dimensions: 60/90 cm x 20 cm x h 10 cm Materials: this model is available in several stone materials.
Lithos Design was established in 2007 thanks to the entrepreneurial flair of two brothers, Claudio and Alberto Bevilacqua, who were able to develop the company’s business in the stone cladding industry, focusing on design, research and cutting-edge technological investments. Today, just a few years on, Lithos Design is known across the globe for its top-notch design, innovation and quality standards, which epitomise the “Made in Italy” trademark and especially as one of the leading companies to have introduced the concept of industrial stone design. www.lithosdesign.com
